I have trained and practiced medicine in Metro Atlanta for nearly 40 years. After residencies in internal medicine and diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology, I started and directed Interventional Radiology (IR) services at Northside Atlanta Hospital from 1991-2000 before moving my practice to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, where I practiced state-of-the-art IR for 23 years. I've always wanted to teach, and I'm now privileged to have joined the faculty at Emory University as an Assistant Professor of Interventional Radiology and Image-Guided Medicine, where I help train tomorrow's interventional radiologists.
I have pioneered and helped develop a number of minimally-invasive treatments, authored dozens of literary papers, and been an invited speaker at several international scientific conferences.
I have been selected by my physician peers as one of Atlanta Magazine's Top Doctors annually from 2009-2023.
I was granted the title of Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR) in 2018, which is bestowed upon less than 10% of the Society's members and based upon my cumulative contributions to the field of interventional radiology and the mission of the Society.
My medical training was extensive and broad:
This eclectic 7-year post-graduate medical training transformed me into a unique young physician. I came face-to-face with the full gamut of medical illness and interacted with literally all medical specialties. During my training and throughout my career, I worked with hundreds of physicians, so I know many of the good ones: Technically and clinically excellent as well as superlative communicators. The ones that you’re so glad that you met.
I'm an attentive listener, and I know how to communicate complex medical terminology and conditions in ways that you can understand. I educate you so that, alongside your existing physicians, you are better able to choose and direct your own care. I provide the names of those physicians or medical centers that I think can help you the most and hopefully meet or exceed your expectations.
Through the years, I have used this method of focused listening, communicative education, and leveraging my network to help countless friends and family members with medical challenges, both locally and outside the Metro Atlanta area. Through my passion for teaching and wealth of professional relationships, my guidance gave them comfort, knowledge, and a clear vision of the road ahead. Their appreciative words and encouragement led me to consider creating a business around this advice when the right time came.
Now, the time has come. I want to help more folks get the optimal referrals and care that they need, becoming like their doctor in the family. Let me help you or your family member get the care that you/they deserve.
